Program
As part of the project "The spirit of places. International meetings" organized by the House of Poetry and the Province of Salerno, on Monday 12 June, at 8.00 pm, the dedication of the Library of the House of Poetry will take place after "Jack Hirschman, the great American poet, founder of the House of Poetry and the greatest visitor to the House and its international projects. After the extraordinary experience of the "Little Kaddish" exhibition, organized by the same bodies at the Provincial Art Gallery of Salerno, which brought together the poetic, translator and painter experience of Jack Hirschman, who enjoyed great success with the public, we thought of this further and dutiful homage to the great American poet. Together with the organizers and managers of the House of Poetry, Gioita Caiazzo (manager of the Cultural Networks and Systems Sector), Wilma Leone (official of the Provincial Library of Salerno), will be present, with the extraordinary participation of Hirschman's widow the poet and painter Agneta Falk. The House of Poetry Library which collects around 20,000 volumes, thousands of films and the sound archive "The Voices of Poetry" (one of the largest in the world), open to the public and scholars, organizes projects of inclusion and diffusion of reading, with guests of great national and international prestige. The Library has also activated in recent days a cross-booking and outdoor reading space, in the spaces opposite the structure. Monday 12 June, at 8pm, together at the official naming of the Library, readings, screenings and a small reception will be organised. It will be an opportunity to meet up with friends and enthusiasts in memory of Jack. HOUSE OF POETRY Via Convento 21/a Baronissi / Salerno Info: 3476275911.
