On Friday 21 October 2022, at 7.30 pm at the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Salerno (via San Benedetto 28), as part of the "The spirit of places" project promoted by the Strategic Planning, Cultural Systems and Urban Planning Sector of the Province of Salerno curated by Multimedia Edizioni di Salerno and the House of Poetry of Baronissi, the video projection of the multimedia project will be held “Matres” project.
Dr. Luigina Tomay, director of the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Basilicata, will introduce the knowledge of the Matres of Capua.
The screening of the video will follow in the presence of the authors (Giancarlo Cavallo, Giuseppe De Marco, Michele Longo, Loredana Mutalipassi).
The nine poetic fragments of Giancarlo Cavallo, entitled “Matres variations” and focused on the conflictual relationship with mother earth. The multimedia project Matres by Giuseppe De Marco intertwines these poetic texts, read by the author, with film sequences attributable to the four primordial elements (air, fire, water, earth), supported by the original music by Michele Longo and some dance sequences (curated by the choreographer Loredana Mutalipassi). The result is an intense, dramatic, artistic product in which four different languages (poetry, cinema, music, dance) merge, through analogies and contrasts, and, like the four primordial elements, create a new life under the aegis of the Mater Matuta.
