About this event
Based on verses... dinner with poets on the seafront of Lazzaro (RC) The series of poetic and food and wine events promoted by the "Angoli Corsari" Cultural Association, by the House of Poetry and by the restaurant l'Accademia di Lazzaro will open on Thursday 10 April. The events, unique within the local and national panorama, will feature poets from various parts of the world, significant exponents of cultures different from ours, who will make "the Academy" a small cosmopolitan center of meeting and exchange. Those present in the room will thus be given the opportunity to enjoy an excellent menu, also linked to the culture of origin of the evening's guest poet, and at the same time to witness a peculiar and magical event, direct contact with the writers who will read, sometimes with musical accompaniment, their creations in verse with simultaneous video projection of the texts in Italian translation. The poets who will open the series of events on April 10 will be Josip Osti and Sinan Gudzevic, who will bring a Balkan sigh to the shores of the Strait of Messina. The first, with its calm and intimate poetry, will create moments of tenderness and reflection, in which the drama of the Balkan war is intertwined with the exaltation of love as the only salvation and refuge, while the second, with its "Roman Epigrams", will bring a breath of wit and sympathy. The union of these two personal components, different and complementary, will give life to an intense evening, which embraces the totality of human feelings and satisfies the variety of emotional inclinations of the audience. The first will be followed by three other meetings, in which great names on the world poetic scene will take turns: the Syrian poet Maram al Masri (24 April) who, with delicacy and sensuality at the same time, gives voice and verses to a heartfelt and enveloping female sensitivity; the Haitian poet Louis-Philippe Dalembert (9 May), just awarded the prestigious Casa de las Americas prize in Cuba; the Americans Jack Hirschman and Agneta Falk (30 May), companions in life and in the ideal of a committed poetry, which gives voice to the "last" and which finds inspiration in the current socio-political reality. The series of meetings, it is clear, gives space to a plurality of expressions and experiences, creating a fusion between different pleasures, the intellectual and that of the throat, which will certainly find favor with those who want to escape from the current torpor to reawaken the soul and the senses.
