La “x” è nera Poesie

La “x” è nera The X is black
se la bandiera si incendia
e una “x” ci brucia dentro
quella “x” è nera
e lascia uno spazio vuoto
in quello spazio viviamo noi
la nazione afroamericana
se la bandiera si incendia e
e una “x” ci brucia dentro
le sole strisce sono nella nostra schiena
la sola stella esplosa
nel cielo del nord
niente rosse
ma solo il nostro sangue
niente bianco ma schiavisti
e klux in cappuccio
niente azzurro ma le nostre canzoni
se la bandiera si incendia
e una “x” ci brucia dentro
quella “x” è nera
lo spazio che resta è la nostra storia
ora un mistero
viviamo dove non c’è bandiera
dove l’aria è fumosa
la musica bollente
dentro il buco
nell’anima dello spazio
viviamo in quel luogo
vuoto di democrazia
nei confini bruciati di un simbolo devastato
umanità “x”
schiavi “x”ignoti, scorretti, cancellati
e la ricchezza degli altri
si moltiplica
se la bandiera si incendia
e una “x” ci brucia dentro
quella “x”
credetemi,
è nera.

If the flag catch
fire, & an X
burn in, that X is Black
& leaves an
empty space. It
is that place
where we live
the Afro American
Nation
If the flag
catch afire
& an X burn in
the only stripes is
on our back
the only star
blow free
in the northen sky
no red but our
blood, no white
but slavers and Klux in robes
no blue
but our songs
If the flag catch fire
& an X
burn in
that X is black
& the space that is left
is our history
now a mystery
we only live
where the flag
is not
where the air is funky
the music
hot
inside the hole
in the American soul
that space, that place
empty of democracy
we live
inside the burned boundaries
of a wasted symbol
X humans, X slaves, unknown, incorrect
crossed out, multiplying the wealth of others
If the flag
catch fire
& an X burn in
that X
believe me,
is black.
