About this event

Saturday 30 June, at 9.15 pm, as part of the "Estate in Museo" project of the Municipality of Salerno, created in collaboration with the Superintendency of Artistic Heritage, in the quadriportico of the Diocesan Museum "San Matteo" (Largo Plebiscito, Salerno), confirming the internationality and cosmopolitanism of the Casa della Poesia project, reading by three great interpreters of international poetry and literature: the Tunisian Tahar Bekri (one of the greatest poets of the Maghreb, singer of the jasmine revolution), the Italian Maria Grazia Calandrone (extraordinary Italian poet, on the rise on the national and international scene), the Spanish Juan Carlos Mestre (great visionary storyteller poet, with his magical accordéon). The stages of bringing the structure closer to the city of Salerno continue, therefore, with the celebration of poetry and friendship at Casa della Poesia, moments of resistance. Three great protagonists of Mediterranean culture which is, despite what has been emerging in recent years, a culture of meeting, relationships, exchange and hospitality. In the poetry of these "travellers of the word", perfumes, tides, spices, stories, dirges, traditions and modernity, the pleasure and difficulties of living. The mare nostrum, common and different territory, autonomous and shared space. Together with the three protagonists, a series of videos of other Mediterranean poets will be presented from the large archive of the House of Poetry. The Councilor for Culture and University, Dr. Ermanno Guerra, will be present. ________________ Informazioni: Casa della poesia: 089/953869 – 347/6275911.
