Planet Sarajevo
About this event
Unmissable three days at the House of Poetry in Baronissi / Salerno. A series of meetings entitled "Planet Sarajevo" will start from Thursday 28 April at 8.30 pm. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the end of the Bosnian war, due to the deep ties between the House of Poetry and the capital of Bosnia, three great poets from Sarajevo will be present in our territory. The guests are extraordinary: Abdullah Sidran, great poet, writer, famous screenwriter of Kusturica's first films (which will be screened during the event); Josip Osti, one of the most authentic and clear poets of contemporary European poetry; Marko Vesovic, another great figure in the Sarajevo cultural world, poet, narrator, journalist, intellectual of ferocious irony, great teller of stories in the best Sarajevo tradition. The three poets will be accompanied by the extraordinary Sinan Gudzevic, a true bridge between the House of Poetry and the Balkans. The event will take place in three moments: a poetic reading by Sidran, Osti and Vesovic; the screening of Emir Kusturica's films: "Daddy... is on a business trip", "Do you remember Dolly Bell?", and the consequent meeting with Abdullah Sidran on his role as a "poet screenwriter", and finally the "poetry in time of war" meeting, with the three authors in memory of the terrible days of the siege of the Bosnian capital. It will also be an opportunity to continue to remember the great poet, also from Sarajevo, Izet Sarajlic (Honorary President of the House of Poetry, honorary citizen of Salerno, protagonist of many poetic meetings, in whose name the House of Poetry has been organizing the Sarajevo International Poetry Meetings for three years). Representatives of our institutions and those of Bosnia will participate.
