One Fourth of July,
my kids and I went to see the parade
in Grants.
Somebody had told me that the ex-judge
had bought the old city jail,
and sure enough,
I saw that he had turned it into
a place called the Jailhouse Restaurant,
Advertised as a very in place
to go in Grants.
the new and bigger city jail sat
at the edge of Martinez Park,
and the city hall walls displayed
a number of Affirmative Action sign.
I guess that could mean
that the jail was now filled
with Cajuns, Okies, Mexicans, Blacks
as well as Indians.
